The Outback 2008

Sunset at Uluru

Sleeping outside is much better than in a tent (except for all the animals around you)
A hard earned beer after a walk on the Toyota Landcruiser
Getting bogged is u must-have experience. Hard work though to get out. It took us 3 hours to move 20 meters...
First wild-camping overlooking the valley around Kings Canyon
The true heart of Australia: Lambert's Point, the geographical centre of mainland Australia. Camping here was pretty special

Left, the Old Ghan Railway Line. Right, the support road. Conditions of both: very very bumpy!
When I save up enough money....this one will be mine!
Our typical night's sky. Still can't get over the amount of stars in the Outback

This is the track along the Old Ghan Rail line and is used once a year as a race track. 300 km from Alice Springs to Fink in under 2 hours....CRAZY!!

Ah... memories...
Your carved rock has finds it's way to the best spot in my place: above the fireplace, where the steaks are being cooked on wood every evening :)
